Rashan Gary tweets following his Michigan commitment on National Signing Day. The nation's No. 1 recruit is excited about being a Wolverine.
February 3, 2016
Rashan Gary was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2016 class for a reason. The defensive tackle is absolutely dominating on the defensive line with superb power, quickness and technique.
And a big-time player needs a big-time program.
On National Signing Day, the 5-star prospect chose to play for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan over Dabo Swinney’s Clemson Tiger.
His decision gives Michigan its first No. 1 recruit in school history and the Big Ten its first No. 1 commit since 2008, when Terrelle Prior chose to play at Ohio State.
Gary is the type of player who can make an immediate impact for the Wolverines. His presence on the defensive line gives Michigan an interior pass-rushing threat and a run stopper.
Soon after his decision was announced, Gary sent out a tweet stating he was “proud” to have committed the University of Michigan, and the Wolverines faithful couldn’t be any more excited. Wednesday was the biggest day in Gary’s life, and he sent out the following tweet following his announcement:
