Bronx, New York prospect Qadir White discusses the most important aspects in his recruitment and what he’s looking for out of a college.

Four-star offensive tackle Qadir White is making the recruiting rounds, recently visiting Penn State (Feb. 24) and Pittsburgh (Feb. 25) for the Panthers’ junior day. He’s also visited Boston College (Jan. 28) and Rutgers (Jan. 29) this year and has an upcoming trip to Maryland (March 3) scheduled.

“The most important things I am looking for in a school are great academics, having a good relationship with the coaching staff, and the school’s ability to produce NFL offensive linemen,” he recently told Alex Gleitman of 247Sports.

White named Rutgers his leader earlier this year, and later stated that five schools are on top: Boston College, Georgia, Miami, Syracuse and the aforementioned Scarlet Knights.

While he’s leaning towards five schools right now, there’s a lot of time left in his recruitment, and don’t be surprised if other teams jump into the top mix. The offers continue to pour in, including from Auburn on Feb. 28 and Georgia on Jan. 17.

Listed at 6’7″ and 300 pounds, White is ranked the No. 21 offensive tackle and No. 228 overall player. He’s a prospect with a huge frame to build on and has a ton of upside. He’ll have to work on his technique at the next level, but comes with all of the athletic traits, which is why so many programs are extending offers.

White plans to announce following his senior season.
