Projected AP Top 25 college football rankings after Clemson’s national championship game win over Alabama. The final AP Poll should look a lot like this when it is released.

As disappointing as it is that the 2016-17 college football season is over, at least we will be talking about this year’s national championship game for a long time.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney claimed his first national title as a head coach, as the Tigers beat Alabama, 35-31, on a last-second two-yard touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson to Hunter Renfrow. The two-time defending ACC champs battled back from a 14-0 deficit.

So the Tigers will finish the season as the top-ranked team in America, while Alabama will likely finish at No. 2 after failing to win back-to-back crowns.

We’ll see how high the voters place USC and Oklahoma after the two squads ended the season on hot streaks. It will also be interesting to see how far Ohio State and Washington drop after their losses to Clemson and Alabama, respectively.
