Projected AP college basketball rankings for Week 7 of the 2015-16 season. Here’s how we predict the top 25 will look.
December 20, 2015We had two teams in the top five take tough losses on Saturday. Kentucky was upset by Ohio State, 74-67, and Northern Iowa took down Iowa State, 81-79.
Even the Duke Blue Devils weren’t safe. They fell in overtime to Utah, 77-75.
We had two top-20 matchups as Virginia handled Villanova, 86-75, and Butler got by Purdue, 74-68.
UCLA tried to sneak into the top 20, but UNC denied that with an 89-76 victory.
Below are our projected AP college basketball rankings for Week 7.
The Spartans stayed unbeaten thanks to 17 points from Denzel Valentine. Michigan State took down Northeastern, 78-58, on the road.
Perry Ellis took control against Montana, dropping 18 points with nine rebounds as the Jayhawks beat the Grizzlies by 42 points.
Buddy Hield absolutely went off, scoring 33 points against Creighton to lead the Sooners to an 87-74 win.
Melo Trimble took on a playmaking role and dropped 10 assists as Jake Layman led the way with 19 points in an 82-61 win against Princeton.
Malcolm Brogdon and Anthony Gill combined for 42 points on 11-of-17 shooting. Brogdon knocked down 12-of-12 free throws to power the Cavaliers to an 86-75 win against Villanova.
