Projected AP college basketball rankings for Week 14 of the 2015-16 season. Here’s how we predict the top 25 will look.
February 7, 2016College basketball continued its wild ride this past week.
North Carolina, who was surging, took two losses on the road against Louisville and Notre Dame. Now, the Tar Heels might find themselves outside of the top five.
Oklahoma lost for the second time in six games. While it shouldn’t be enough to knock them out of the top five, the Sooners shouldn’t hold onto the No. 1 ranking this week.
South Carolina’s loss to Georgia certainly hurt, but the 81-78 win over No. 8 Texas A&M should be enough to keep the Gamecocks in the top 25.
Below are the projected AP college basketball rankings for Week 14.
The Wildcats absolutely destroyed Creighton on Wednesday, 83-58, but that was expected. Villanova followed that up with a 72-60 road-win over No. 11 Providence.
It was a bit of a close call on the road against Nebraska, but the Terps survived against the Cornhuskers, 70-65. Maryland responded by winning its fourth game in a row after beating No. 18 Purdue, 72-61.
The Hawkeyes have now won three games in a row after beating Penn State on Wednesday, 73-49, and pairing that with a win on the road over Illinois, 77-65. Iowa has won 12 of its last 13 games.
It was all fun and games on Tuesday when Oklahoma took down TCU at home, handing the Horned Frogs a 95-72 loss. But the Sooners fell again on the road Saturday to Kansas State, as the Wildcats took home a 80-69 win.
The Musketeers built up their winning streak to five games this past week. Xavier picked up a win at home against St. John’s, 90-83. The Musketeers followed that up by beating Marquette, 90-82, on Saturday.
