Projected AP college basketball rankings for Week 11 of the 2015-16 season. Here’s how we predict the top 25 will look.
January 18, 2016West Virginia nearly took down the top two teams this past week. After beating Kansas, 74-63, the Mountaineers fell to Oklahoma on a last second tip-in.
The Jayhawks’ loss will likely push the Sooners into the top spot.
Clemson opened up eyes once again by knocking off two top 10 teams. The Tigers beat Duke, 68-63, on Wednesday. And on Saturday, Clemson followed that win up with a 76-65 victory over Miami.
Below are the projected AP college basketball rankings for Week 11.
It’s finally time for the Sooners to take their shot at being No. 1 in the nation. West Virginia got the best of Kansas, but the Sooners edged out a win over the Mountaineers. When you add in Oklahoma’s win over Oklahoma State, the Sooners deserve the top ranking.
After a nail-biting battle with Oklahoma, we all thought Kansas would hold onto the top spot for a while, but a 74-63 loss on the road against West Virginia has to hurt a little. The Jayhawks did bounce back, though, by beating TCU on Saturday.
The Tar Heels are finally playing with a little momentum and acting like the team that was No. 1 in the nation when the season started. North Carolina’s 67-55 victory over NC State this past week pushed the Heels’ winning streak to nine.
The Wildcats have not lost since Dec. 19 when they were taken down on the road by Virginia. Now, Villanova has won eight straight games, including wins over Marquette and Georgetown last week.
The Musketeers’ winning streak is up to four games following last week’s performance. Xavier picked up double-digits wins against DePaul and Marquette.
