December 31, 2016The 2017 Under Armour All-America Game is filled with talented recruits; here are some high-profile players to watch.
Get ready because the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game has arrived, and it’s now time to have a glimpse of the future.
Last year, we saw big names like Rashan Gary, Nate Craig-Myers and Chauncey Gardner participate in the game. In years past, we’ve enjoyed watching Leonard Fournette, Vernon Hargreaves III, Jadeveon Clowney and plenty others.
This year’s batch of recruits is just as promising, and here are a few names to keep an eye on during the Under Armour game.
Mond was bound for Baylor at one point, but now he’s on his way to College Station, and there is plenty for Aggies fans to be excited about. He can make plays with his arm and his legs and can compete for the starting job next season.
Certainly an MVP candidate for the Under Armour game, Mond will be helped out by throwing to guys like 4-star receiver James Robinson and his future Texas A&M teammates Hezekiah Jones and Jhamon Ausbon.
Once a Georgia commit, Carter reportedly had his offer pulled after Nick Chubb and Sony Michel decided to return to Athens for the 2017 season. UGA’s loss is Texas’ gain. Carter can turn up field in a hurry and will find some early snaps thanks to D’Onta Foreman’s departure to the NFL.
When you talk about future first-round picks, the name that immediately comes to mind is Kary Vincent Jr. He has everything you want in a cornerback: great ball skills, elite speed and athleticism, and he isn’t afraid to lay hits and wrap up. We could be looking at LSU’s next great defensive back.
You could find great sushi in the desert before you could find an offensive lineman capable of consistently blocking Marvin Wilson. He is going to be what Ed Oliver and Dexter Lawrence were this past season. Just as Vincent comes to mind when thinking of potential first-round picks, “Hollywood Marv” comes to mind when discussing future top-1o picks. He’s that talented.
There is a reason why Clemson has become WRU (Wide Receiver University). Year after year, the Tigers produce high-quality pass catchers, and both Tee Higgins and Amari Rodgers could be the next great duo of receivers to come out of Clemson. They’re both playing on Team Armour and will most likely show love to Dabo Swinney’s Tigers if they break into the end zone.
