A first look at the Pinstripe Bowl matchup between the Duke Blue Devils and Indiana Hoosiers.
September 26, 2016Date: Saturday, December 26
Sure, you don’t want to become overly greedy about the Blue Devils. This remains a basketball school, with a sparse history on grass, so four consecutive bowl games are still a really big deal. But for the second straight fall, Duke unraveled down the stretch. Last year, it was a two-loss November that handed the Coastal Division to Georgia Tech, and this season the team never recovered from a controversial Halloween loss to Miami. The Devils dropped four in a row in the second half before stopping the skid with a season-ending win over Wake Forest.
This might be the perfect lower-level bowl team to watch – there’s no defense, the offense is fantastic, and there will be lots and lots of points and big plays from all sides. The Hoosiers struggled at times when injuries hit QB Nate Sudfeld and RB Jordan Howard, but everyone got right in time to win the last two years on the road to get bowling. Enjoy lots of points, enjoy lots of big plays, and get ready for one of the most entertaining bowls of the bunch.
