Cleveland Browns associate head coach Pep Hamilton is reportedly a candidate to join Michigan’s coaching staff, which would reunite him with Jim Harbaugh.

Jim Harbaugh’s coaching staff took a bit of a hit this past week when its passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Jedd Fisch, decided to leave the Wolverines to become UCLA’s new offensive coordinator.

Now, Harbaugh could be dipping into his Stanford days to find Fisch’s replacement.

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Cleveland Browns associate head coach and quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton is considering joining the Michigan coaching staff.

Hamilton served on Harbaugh’s staff with the Cardinal in 2010 as the wide receivers coach. When Harbaugh left to coach the San Francisco 49ers the following season, Hamilton was promoted to offensive coordinator and worked with eventual No. 1 overall pick Andrew Luck.

In 2013, Hamilton joined forces with Luck once again when he became the OC for the Indianapolis Colts, as he replaced Bruce Arians, who left to become the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. Hamilton was fired in 2015 and joined the Browns for the 2016 season.

If Hamilton were to join the Wolverines, he’d have a nice young pool of talent to work with.

Michigan signed former 4-star quarterback Brandon Peters in the 2016 recruiting class. And, in the 2017 class, the Wolverines have commitments from 4-star quarterback Dylan McCaffrey, 5-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones and 4-star wide receiver Tarik Black.

Aside from Luck, Hamilton has also worked with Chad Pennington, Alex Smith and Jay Cutler.

UPDATE: Per the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Sunday, Hamilton has joined Michigan’s staff.
