November 20, 2015The No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners will welcome the No. 18 TCU Horned Frogs to Norman, Okla. on Saturday night in a high-powered Big 12 matchup.
The Sooners (9-1, 6-1 Big 12) are coming off a huge win on the road, as Oklahoma handed Baylor its first loss of the year and first loss at home since 2012. The win has vaulted the Sooners up the rankings and into the conversation for the College Football Playoff. The Bears made it close, pulling within three points midway in the fourth quarter, but Baker Mayfield and drove Oklahoma down the field and connected with Dimitri Flowers for the touchdown, putting the game away. Semaje Perine (28 car, 166 yards, 2 TD) and Sterling Shepard (14 rec, 177 yards, 2 TD) anchored the Sooners offense. Mayfield added to his Heisman Trophy candidacy with 346 total yards and four touchdowns.
The Horned Frogs (9-1, 6-1 Big 12) rebounded nicely last week after its loss to Oklahoma State a few weeks ago, hanging on to beat Kansas 23-17 without its two offensive stars. Josh Doctson was held out of the game with a wrist injury, and Trevone Boykin left the game with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter. TCU will have to rally around the reserves, as it will most likely be without the duo against Oklahoma. The Horned Frogs turned to Foster Sawyer and Bram Kohlhausen to step in for Boykin. Sawyer’s only completion was a 42-yard touchdown strike to Shaun Nixon to give TCU a 10-point lead and some breathing room late in the game. Nixon filled in for Doctson with seven receptions for 78 yards. TCU will need him to step up again against the Sooners.
Oklahoma and TCU will get together for the 15th time on Saturday, with the Sooners leading the series 9-5 all-time. These games are known to be competitive as the last three have been decided by three points or fewer.
Below is everything you need to know about the game, including the Oklahoma vs. TCU online live stream, TV broadcast information, game notes and prediction.
Can TCU come up with something special even though it’s coming in limping? This is when the defense rises up and tries to save the season, but it’ll only do so much. This won’t be the walk in the park Oklahoma might be hoping for, but the Sooners will pull away late setting themselves up for something really, really big against Oklahoma State.
