Oklahoma is a flawed team (see: it’s allergic to defense), and while Iowa State has looked better under Matt Campbell’s direction, it’s difficult to envision them pulling out the victory. Oklahoma is gunning for a conference title after its disappointing start to the season. That motivation will carry them through in the midweek game. Look for Dede Westbrook continue on his recent tear.

Samaje Perine is hurt. Joe Mixon is suspended. Have no worries, though, Sooners fans. Baker Mayfield is going to take care of this one for you. The Cyclones don’t have anyone capable of stopping Mayfield. He’ll light up Iowa State and lead Oklahoma to a win.

Matt Campbell’s Cyclones have been competitive against some of the better teams in the Big 12, and I’d expect the same in the early going against the Sooners. OU will come out a little flat offensively, but Baker Mayfield and Co. will kick it into high gear after halftime, as the Sooners notch their sixth straight win.

The Cyclones are getting better, but not enough to beat the Sooners, even with Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon out for acting like a child after a police officer gave him a parking ticket. Has Oklahoma already received its annual preseason No. 1 ranking for next season?
