The Oklahoma Sooners have made it to the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a preview of the team and a prediction of how they’ll do during March Madness.

    Resume

    Team: Oklahoma Sooners

    Record:
     25-7

    Conference:
    Big 12

    Head coach:
    Lon Kruger

    How they got here:
     At-large bid

    The Good

Buddy Hield is a superstar who has been one of the top scorers in the country all season. He’s great at getting to the line, is fantastic in transition, can knock down the 3-pointer, is a quality defender and has good vision to boot. When Hield is scoring, look out. He gets help from Isaiah Cousins, Jordan Woodard and Ryan Spangler, and the Sooners hit the glass as well as anyone in the country.

    The Bad

Hield is expected to carry a lot of the load, and it has taken its toll this year. The Sooners have come back to the pack some because they just look a little tired on the floor, and the starting lineup plays a lot of minutes. If Hield has a bad shooting night, Oklahoma struggles to adjust.

    Prediction

The Sooners are battle-tested, but the question is how much they have left in the tank. Oklahoma scored some nice non-conference wins and was competitive in the best conference in the country, so a trip to the Sweet 16 is certainly a possibility.
