Oklahoma football recruiting update for the week of March 25, 2016.

Bob Stoops didn’t see a ton of recruiting action in the past week, but that doesn’t mean Oklahoma didn’t make moves.

The Sooners didn’t pick up any commitments, but they did extend a couple of scholarship offers to recruits in the 2017 class.

One of those prospects was Trey Blount, a 4-star recruit and the No. 22 wide receiver in the nation.

At 6-foot-2, 192 lbs Blount already has the size to make an impact for any college team. He has the acceleration and separation ability needed to provide a vertical threat in the offense — a useful weapon in third-and-long situations.

He’s dangerous after the catch and has excellent body control when the ball is in the air.

The Sooners also offered another pass catcher named Jermaine Eskridge, a wide receiver in the 2018 class.

He has the height at 6-foot-3, but he’s only 185 lbs. He’ll have to put on about 10 lbs between now and the end of his senior year.

He’s big target to hit and finds space over the middle — especially in quick slants and routes with one read for the quarterback.

He still has a lot of room to improve though, and he will over the next two seasons.

Below is a breakdown of Oklahoma’s 2017 recruiting class as it currently stands.
