The No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes will travel to “The Big House” on Saturday to take on the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines in one of the most storied rivalries in all of sports.

The Buckeyes (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten) are looking to bounce back from last week’s shocking loss at home to Michigan State. The Spartans’ Michael Geiger kicked a 41-yard, game-winning field goal as time expired to leave Columbus with the win. It was a game the Ohio State offense would like to forget as it gained just 132 yards total. J.T. Barrett finished with just 46 yards passing and also led the Buckeyes with 44 yards rushing. The Spartans stacked the box and didn’t allow Ezekiel Elliott to beat them, he was handed the ball just 12 times for 33 yards, but managed to score a touchdown. The Ohio State defense did enough to keep the team in the game as it forced a pair of turnovers, but the Buckeyes also give up 203 yards on the ground.

The Wolverines (9-2, 6-1 Big Ten) are cruising as of late having won four in a row, including last week’s 28-16 win over Penn State. Michigan grabbed a 14-10 lead in the second quarter on a Jake Rudock-Amara Darboh 11-yard touchdown connection and would keep it the rest of the way. Rudock finished with another solid outing, hitting on 25 of his 38 passes for 256 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. The Michigan QB spread the ball out as three of his receivers had 60+ yards receiving. Darboh (7 rec, 68 yards) and Jake Butt (5 rec, 66 yards) were recipients of Rudock’s touchdown passes. The Wolverines didn’t need much from the rushing attack, which only produced 87 yards, but they were able to find the end zone as De’Veon Smith and Sione Houma each had scores. The Michigan D came through again for Jim Harbaugh’s club, holding the Nittany Lions to just 207 yards of total offense and allowing Penn State to convert just three third downs (14 attempts).

Dating back to 1897, Saturday’s game will be the 112th between Ohio State and Michigan. The Wolverines hold a 58-47-6 record all-time, but the Buckeyes have won 11 of the last 13 meetings.

Really? So this is how it’s all going to end for Ohio State this year? Of course there’s a bowl still to be played, but this ultra-talented defending national champion is going out with a whimper and Michigan State and Michigan are going to finish the season as the stars of the East? Nah. Ohio State doesn’t have the fire, the attitude, or the offensive coordinator it had last year, but it still has the talent. It’s not going to play the same lousy game twice.
