Ohio State’s Field Goal Return Play Trolls Bama

Ohio State's field goal return play is called "Bama," which is such a savage move from Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer.

    November 5, 2015

Urban Meyer is riding high on a 21-game winning streak. Part of that stretch includes a win over Meyer’s rival, Nick Saban, in the College Football Playoff semifinal last year.

The duel between the two has been going on for years, and it’s apparently carried over into Meyer’s playbook.

On Thursday he informed the world during his weekly radio show that Ohio State has been practicing a field goal return play. It’s name? “Bama.”

Such a savage troll by Meyer.

If you haven’t connected the dots, the play name is derived from Auburn’s “Kick Six” against Alabama from the 2013 season. The Tigers shocked the Tide with one of the wildest plays in college football history, returning a missed 57-yard field goal over 100 yards for a game-winning touchdown.

We can only hope Ohio State and Alabama meet again in the playoff, and Meyer has a chance to run “Bama” against Saban.
