Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin picks for the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 matchup between the Fighting Irish and Badgers.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s balanced scoring attack will face off against the Wisconsin Badgers’ trio of Nigel Hayes, Bronson Koenig and Ethan Happ in the Sweet 16.
Notre Dame entered the tourney as a 6-seed and was matched up with Michigan in the first round. The Irish sent the 11-seeded Wolverines home early with a 70-63 win. Notre Dame survived 14-seeded Stephen F. Austin in the second round, taking down the Lumberjacks, 76-75.
As for 7-seed Wisconsin, the Badgers knocked out 10-seed Pitt, 47-43, in the first round. The Badgers took on Xavier after that, prevailing in a nail-biter. With the clock counting down, Koenig threw up a fadeaway three from the corner and buried it at the buzzer to eliminate the 2-seeded Musketeers in dramatic fashion.

No one, myself included, picked Wisconsin to beat Xavier. One jaw-dropping buzzer-beater later and Wisconsin continues dancing. The Badgers will ride the momentum and take down Notre Dame in a close matchup.
Robert Judin
Notre Dame has been anything but convincing so far in the tournament. Wisconsin just pulled off a miracle win against Xavier, and the Badgers have to feel like they can take on anybody right now. Happ will work the glass and hit double figures while Koenig spaces the floor with the three-point stroke to take the win.
Glenn McGraw
Notre Dame and Wisconsin will trade blows, back and forth, until the final buzzer. The Fighting Irish will make more plays down the stretch to advance to the Elite Eight. Zach Auguste will be the difference maker, and Demetrius Jackson will be on from three-point range.
Pete Fiutak
Wisconsin defies all logic. This team just isn’t all that good. Pitt was better. Xavier was better. Notre Dame is better. The Badgers will still win and move on. There isn’t a key defensive rebound Wisconsin doesn’t seem to get.
