Notre Dame is going to keep this one competitive into the fourth quarter, but Virginia Tech will pull away. Jerod Evans has a big game, helping the Hokies move one step closer to the ACC title game.

    Robert Judin

If this game was a week earlier, I might have gone a different route, but I’m picking Notre Dame here. The Fighting Irish are coming off of a win, and I still believe in DeShone Kizer’s ability to lead a football team. Jerod Evans will play well, but Kizer is going to deliver dimes when he needs to and will continuously move the chains for Notre Dame. The Irish win by a touchdown.

    Dave Miller

This should be one of the more interesting matchups of the week considering how both teams are coming off of surprising outcomes. The Hokies’ defense was gashed by Georgia Tech quarterback Matthew Jordan, who made his first career start for the Yellow Jackets last week. Offensively, Virginia Tech needs to find its groove once again, as the Hokies had four giveaways against the Yellow Jackets.

Meanwhile, DeShone Kizer collected 72 of Notre Dame’s season-high 261 rushing yards in a 44-6 win over Army. I think both offenses will light up the scoreboard, but Bud Foster’s defense makes a stand late in the fourth quarter to prevent a Notre Dame win and knock the Fighting Irish out of bowl contention.

    Brian Stultz

Is Bud Foster just a bad interview? Is that the reason he has never been hired as a head coach? That’s the theory I’m working with.

Also, is Notre Dame actually playing this game in its actual home of South Bend, or are they making fans and the opposing team travel to Cheyenne to satisfy their Wyoming fan base? Oh, they are playing at Notre Dame Stadium. Amazing.

It won’t matter. Virginia Tech wins, and Brian Kelly blames the guy sitting in Section 28, Row 39, Seat 4 for the loss, saying he distracted the players by getting up to go to the bathroom during a crucial drive.
