The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have made it to the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a preview of the team and a prediction of how they’ll do during March Madness.

    Resume

    Team: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

    Record:
    21-10

    Conference:
    ACC

    Head coach:
    Mike Brey

    How they got here:
     At-large bid

    The Good

The Fighting Irish isn’t what it was last year, but it has scored some impressive wins this year and is at its best when the pressure is on. Five players average double figures in scoring, led by Demetrius Jackson. Forward Zach Auguste is a double-double player who controls both ends of the floor. Notre Dame isn’t the deepest team in the tourney, but it is dangerous.

    The Bad

The depth has been an issue, especially when the tempo gets rolling and Notre Dame gets into foul trouble. The Irish can be a little streaky from beyond the arc, too, and even Jackson can rely a bit too much on his jumper instead of going to the basket. Getting a little help from the bench is everything for Mike Brey.

    Prediction

Beating a Brey-coached team in the postseason takes some doing, and you have to love the heart the Fighting Irish shows on the court. This is going to be a very dangerous team early in the tourney, and getting to the Sweet 16 is a possibility considering this team’s hunger.
