The New Mexico Lobos will welcome the Colorado State Rams to Albuquerque on Saturday in a Mountain Division showdown.

The Lobos (6-4, 4-2 MW) are coming off one of their best wins in the Bob Davie era, stunning the Boise State Broncos, 31-24, on the road last week. New Mexico handed Boise State its fifth home loss in the last 101 games and it was the Broncos largest margin of defeat at home since 2001. Boise State was able to catch New Mexico in the fourth quarter, tying the game at 17, but rushing touchdowns by Richard McQuarley and Teriyon Gipson put the game away. Boise State couldn’t contain the New Mexico running game, which rushed for a total of 195 yards and saw four different players find the end zone. Jhurell Pressley was the high man of the group, scampering for 132 yards on nine carries and a score.

The Rams (5-5, 3-3 MW) are winners of two straight and are one win away from bowl eligibility for the third consecutive year. Last time out, the Rams offense exploded for 49 points as Colorado State took care of business against UNLV at home. The Nick Stevens-Rishard Higgins connection proved to be a successful one as the tandem hooked up for three touchdowns on the afternoon. Higgins’ three touchdown receptions brings his season total to eight, which leads the Mountain West conference. Dalyn Dawkins led a strong effort on the ground for the Colorado State running game, finishing with a career-high 151 rushing yards. He now has 291 yards on the ground over his past two games.

New Mexico and Colorado State will square off for the 63rd time on Saturday with the Rams leading the series 37-25 all-time. New Mexico’s last win in the series was in 2009 as Colorado State has won five straight since.
