The 2016 Nevada football schedule has a lot of big travelling early, but the payoff comes late.

    2016 Nevada Football Schedule

    Sept. 24 at Purdue
    Oct. 1 at Hawaii
    Oct. 8 Fresno State
Oct. 15 at San Jose State
    Oct. 22 Wyoming
    Oct. 29 OPEN DATE
    Nov. 5 at New Mexico
    Nov. 12 San Diego State
    Nov. 19 Utah State
    Nov. 26 at UNLV

Non-Conference Games: Cal Poly, at Notre Dame, Buffalo, at Purdue

Games vs. the Mountain: Wyoming, at New Mexico, Utah State

    5 Keys To The Schedule

    – Playing Cal Poly to start the season is a must of a tune-up with a trip to Notre Dame to follow. Buffalo is going to be good for a MAC team, but that has to be a winnable home game with a plane ride back to Indiana to face Purdue.

    – There’s a lot of travelling early on with a stretch of three road games in four weeks, and five in seven weeks, after opening up against Cal Poly. The payoff comes over the second half of the season with just one date away from October 22nd to November 26th. The Wolf Pack leave the state of Nevada just once over the final six weeks.

    – The interdivisional games against the Mountain aren’t bad, hosting Utah State and Wyoming and travelling to New Mexico. There’s no Boise State, Air Force or Colorado State.

    – The week off might come at just the right time in late October. The finishing kick isn’t awful, but the West showdown against San Diego State is at home two weeks after getting the time off.

    – WATCH OUT FOR … the road trip to Hawaii. Losing to Notre Dame or Purdue doesn’t matter, but to blow the Mountain West opener at Hawaii would sting. Considering all the flying the team will do, that’s a tough road date after going to Purdue the week before.
