These are two of the worst two-loss teams in the country. I’m sorry, that’s just the way it is. However, this game carries plenty of importance, as the Big Ten West teams fight it out for which one could have the honor of being crushed by Michigan or Ohio State in the Big Ten title game. Nebraska is overrated, while Minnesota isn’t really on anyone’s radar. I’ll take the Golden Gophers to get a leg up on the Huskers in the division race.

First of all, I hope Tommy Armstrong Jr. is doing well and recovering quickly. If he isn’t able to go for Nebraska, Ryker Fyfe won’t be asked to do a whole lot. Terrell Newby will get a lot of touches, and he’ll team up with Devine Ozigbo for three rushing touchdowns. Mitch Leidner will throw his way into trouble, and the Cornhuskers will flip the field on Minnesota. Nebraska wins by pounding the rock.

Tommy Armstrong returned to practice on Thursday, but we still do not know whether or not he will play in this one. Meanwhile, Minnesota leading rusher Rodney Smith ran for 153 yards and three touchdowns in last Saturday’s win over Purdue but is battling an ankle injury. Head coach Tracy Claeys said he is not concerned about Smith, who is having a big season on the ground. Even if Armstrong plays, Nebraska won’t be able to slow down the Minnesota rushing attack as the Gophers claim a Big Ten West win.

Does this “rivalry” have a trophy yet? Hold on, I’m going to check. (Checking Wikipedia.) OHMYGOD, IT DOES!!! What is wrong with you, Big Ten? This is almost as bad as the UConn-UCF trophy. The Cornhuskers and Golden Gophers play for the $5 Bits Of Broken Chair Trophy, which sounds like a joke, and kind of is, but still isn’t, considering the conference’s love of inane hardware. Nebraska wins.
