One of the elite offensive linemen in the 2018 recruiting class has taken a step forward in his recruitment only a week after the 2017 recruiting cycle wrapped up.
On Tuesday morning, 4-star prospect Nana Asiedu revealed his top 10 schools and included programs from the ACC, Big Ten and SEC. In alphabetical order, Asiedu’s schools are Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
The Stafford, Virginia native is ranked as the No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 56 overall player in the country by Scout.com. And the move to unveil his top 10 choices comes one day after he named Dabo Swinney’s Tigers as his leader. Asiedu spent an unofficial visit at Clemson during the weekend of Jan. 28, three days after he received a visit from Jame Franklin, Matt Limegrover and Charles Huff from Penn State’s staff.
At 6-foot-6, 270 lbs Asiedu has the frame and the arm length to remain at offensive tackle. He’s quick off the ball, bends well and has quick, clean footwork. Asiedu is also a reliable run blocker, as he has a quick first step and keeps his numbers to the sky.
His athleticism shouldn’t go unnoticed. Asiedu spent time on the defensive line but can also spread out wide and play tight end. He has solid hands, so an eventual transition to tight end can’t be ruled out for him. However, it’s much more likely he’ll stick to offensive tackle.
