The No. 12 Michigan Wolverines will travel to “Happy Valley” to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday afternoon in a Big Ten East showdown.

The Wolverines (8-2, 5-1 Big Ten) are winners of three straight and are coming off a thriller in Bloomington, Ind. as they knocked off the Indiana Hoosiers 48-41 last week. Jake Rudock (33-of-46, 440 yards) could not be denied, as he set the Michigan single-game record for touchdown passes with six. In addition to the touchdown record, Rudock also amassed 504 offensive yards, which were the second most by a Michigan player in school history. Jehu Chesson was on the receiving end of four of Rudock’s touchdown passes, which tied the Wolverines single-game record (Derrick Alexander also had four in 1992). In addition to the touchdown receptions, Chesson set career highs with 10 receptions and 207 yards receiving.

The Nittany Lions (7-3, 4-2 Big Ten) had won two straight before falling to Northwestern 23-21 in a tight game on the road last week. Penn State held a 21-20 lead throughout most of the fourth quarter, only to watch the Wildcats put a 10-play, 36-yard drive together to set up Jack Mitchell’s game-winning field goal. Saquon Barkley led the way offensively for the Nittany Lions, carrying the ball 25 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Christian Hackenberg struggled. The preseason Heisman Trophy candidate connected on 21-of-40 passes for 205 yards, but he was unable to find the end zone. Oddly enough, the only Penn State passing touchdown came from wide receiver Geno Lewis, who connected with DaeSean Hamilton on a trick play, which got the Nittany Lions back in the game.

Michigan and Penn State will match up for the 19th time on Saturday. The Wolverines lead the all-time series 11-7. Last year, Michigan knocked off the Nittany Lions 18-13 to snap Penn State’s four game winning streak in the series.

Below is everything you need to know about the game, including the Michigan vs. Penn State online live stream, TV broadcast information, game notes and prediction.

A well-rested Penn State will come out hot, but Michigan will slowly grind away with the rushing attack. The Wolverines defense will rise up after last week’s problematic showing against the Hoosiers, and Hackenberg just won’t be good enough. If he’s the best player on the field, Penn State wins. He won’t be.
