D.J. Durkin helped Michigan’s defense take a huge step last season as Jim Harbaugh’s defensive coordinator, and it landed Durkin the Maryland job. Now he gets to see how much it has improved since he left. The Terps are heading in the right direction under Durkin and offensive coordinator Walt Bell, but Jabrill Peppers, Jourdan Lewis and company are going to be too much and will hold Maryland to fewer than 250 yards. Michigan wins easily.

Mayland is staring down consecutive games against Michigan and then Ohio State. Tough draw for DJ Durkin’s squad. The Terps will hit the bowl eligibility mark, but it won’t come until either the Nebraska or Rutgers game. This might be close in the first quarter, but once Michigan warms up, the defense will smother its overmatched opponent.

    Robert Judin

I absolutely love everything D.J. Durkin has done with the Terps. He has a great vision for that program, and he’ll have them competing at a high level very soon. But Maryland isn’t going to beat Michigan this time around. That defense has been way too stout, and Jabrill Peppers has been way too explosive in every phase of the game for the Terps to pull a win out here. Peppers will have another Heisman moment in yet another Wolverines win.

    Dave Miller

D.J. Durkin has done a very nice job in his first season with the Terps even though they are 1-3 since their unbeaten start. It was a rough day for the defense last week in the loss to Indiana, and it’s tough to imagine the Terps being able to contain Michigan’s offense on Saturday. Jim Harbaugh’s defense forces Perry Hills into a few interceptions, and the offense is efficient for four quarters in an easy Wolverines win.

Maryland is one win away from being bowl eligible in D.J. Durkin’s debut season in College Park. That win will not come against the Wolverines. Michigan rolls, but that isn’t what is important. What IS important is the fact, like my colleague Jeff Bartl pointed out, that Jim Harbaugh showed up to a World Series game at Wrigley Field (thanks for not offering the ticket to me, jerk) and had a glove. That is embarrassing. Grow up, Jimmy Boy!
