Both teams have an impressive win on their resume. Both teams have a “meh” performance against a program they should have dominated. I’m riding with Mark Dantonio and the Spartans … and that’s definitely not because the guy across the cube from me just gave the throat slash gesture when I started typing “Wisconsin.” Spartans take it in one of the weekend’s closer matchups, a prototypical Big Ten slugfest.

Wisconsin has some ballers on defense, but it’s also pretty banged up right now. Meanwhile, Michigan State is coming off a huge win over Notre Dame. Tyler O’Connor is handling the job as full-time starter very well. Also, Donnie Corley is going to end up being a star for the Spartans, and this season is his chance to get his feet wet. He and O’Connor will link up for another touchdown, and Sparty will move to 3-0.

The Badgers have some issues on offense. Head coach Paul Chryst benched Bart Houston during the struggle against Georgia State, so redshirt freshman Alex Hornibrook will get the nod. Wisconsin wants to establish the run, but Corey Clement missed last week with a bum ankle. Chryst’s defense is very good, so the Spartans will find it difficult to get their ground game going as well. It’s in East Lansing, and Mark Dantonio is awfully difficult to beat. A fourth-quarter drive featuring LJ Scott and Gerald Holmes on the ground is the difference in a Sparty win.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz … oh, I’m sorry. I was watching a replay of the Wisconsin victory over Georgia State from last Saturday. The Badgers are a mess on offense and the defense is hurting. That isn’t good news for a team that will face a Spartans side that seemed to find its footing in the big win against Notre Dame. Wisconsin fans won’t be “jumping around” after this one as Sparty takes them down.
