The Michigan State spring game is coming up fast. Here’s all the Green-White Game info, including date, time and how to watch the Spartans’ spring game.
Michigan State was one of the top teams in college football last season. They prevailed in a monstrous Big Ten, and reached the College Football Playoff semifinal on the back of a veteran quarterback and stifling defense.
Now head coach Mark Dantonio must replace 14 starters, including Connor Cook, the winningest quarterback in Michigan State history. Coming into spring practice, it looks like it will be a two-man race to fill Cook’s shoes between Tyler O’Connor and Damian Terry. The duo spilt snaps in Michigan State’s 17-14 win against Ohio State last season when Cook was injured.
Playing time at wide receiver will be highly contested, with all starters gone from last season. R.J. Shelton is expected to step up and take over the No. 1 spot, while Felton Davis III and Monty Madaris will try to impress during spring practice.
The Michigan State defense line will be led by Malik McDowell, while players such as Demetrius Cooper and Craig Evans need to step up to fill the void left by departures. In the secondary, the return of cornerback Vayante Copeland after fracturing his vertebra last season will be closely watched.
