Report: Michigan QB Shane Morris To Transfer

Michigan quarterback Shane Morris will reportedly transfer. He is a redshirt junior and has one year of eligibility remaining to play.

    December 7, 2016

Redshirt junior quarterback Shane Morris is reportedly set to transfer from Michigan.

Former five-star quarterback Shane Morris is on the move. After spending the last four seasons in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Morris has decided he’ll end his career at a different institution, according to ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren.

Morris, currently a redshirt junior, will transfer upon graduation. He’ll be eligible to play immediately due to NCAA grad transfer rules, and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Morris ends his career with the Wolverines having never fully met expectations when he arrived in Ann Arbor. He was ranked the nation’s No. 3 quarterback and No. 40 overall player coming out of high school in Michigan.

He appeared in five games and made one start in his freshman season. He followed that up with the same number of appearances and starts in his sophomore campaign. After not seeing action in his junior year, Morris played in six games in 2016 in a reserve role.

Morris threw for just 434 yards and zero touchdowns, compared to five interceptions, while at Michigan.
