March 22, 2016The Michigan Wolverines will hold a practice at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions.
After making headlines by taking his Michigan team down to Florida for a week of spring workouts, head coach Jim Harbaugh is pulling off yet another stunt. According to The Detroit News, the Wolverines will suit up in Detroit on Saturday and practice at Ford Field.
The second-year coach has been the talk of the college football world this offseason with his unorthodox antics, and has some coaches – not to mention an entire conference – up in arms. The Southeastern Conference tried to block Michigan from holding the event in Florida during the university’s spring break, but Harbaugh and his team ended up holding four practices at IMG Academy.
While the use of Ford Field will not cause as much outrage or backlash as the Florida trip, Harbaugh has once again thought of a way to attract attention to the powerhouse program on the mend. The Wolverines will even be given access to the Detroit Lions’ locker room.
These acts follow last summer debut performance by Harbaugh, as he was seen shirtless while holding a satellite camp in Prattville, AL. The Wolverines went 10-3 in his first year in charge, including a 41-7 victory over Florida in the Citrus Bowl.
