    5 Keys to the Schedule

    – Michigan isn’t exactly extending itself in non-conference play starting out with Hawaii before hosting UCF – two teams coming off of miserable seasons with new coaching staffs. Colorado isn’t bringing Kordell Stewart and Michael Westbrook this time around.

    – How nice is most of the schedule? The Wolverines leave Michigan just once until November 12th, and that one game out of the state is at Rutgers.

    – However, one of the games in-state is at Michigan State. The Penn State game is at home, but the Ohio State showdown is on the road. There shouldn’t be a problem against the rest of the East.

    – Michigan has to face Wisconsin from the West, but it’s at home. The Iowa game, though, is on the road. Illinois at home is an easy interdivisional date.

    – WATCH OUT FOR … Indiana. There shouldn’t be a problem with motivation after the close call in last year’s thrilling win by the Wolverines, but it comes between road trips to Iowa and Ohio State. It’s the final home game of the year, but Michigan probably can’t mail this in.
