Michigan football recruiting update as of Wednesday, Jan. 13.

The Michigan Wolverines are sitting pretty in the 247Sports Composite rankings for 2016 with the No. 2 class.

But Wednesday brought a bit of a hiccup to Jim Harbaugh’s recruiting plans.

Sir Patrick Scott, a 3-star recruit and the No. 56 cornerback in the class decommitted from the Wolverines. Scott, who’s from Upper Marlboro, Md., had been committed to Michigan since August but chose to re-open his recruitment. He announced his intentions in a message he tweeted out.

“After much thought and prayer, I have decided to de-commit from the University of Michigan and re-open my recruitment.
I would like to thank Coach Harbaugh and the entire staff at Michigan for recruiting me. I wish them and the entire program nothing but the best in the future.
I will not be making any further statements until I have more clarity about my future. I will not respond directly to any media requests.
    God Bless.”

With Scott’s decommitment, Michigan’s recruiting class now sits at 23 total commitments.
