February 5, 2017Michigan football recruiting update as of February 5, 2017. Jim Harbaugh is laying the groundwork for yet another big class in the 2018 cycle.
After Jim Harbaugh took his team to the IMG Academy last year, he and his staff used that time in Bradenton, Florida to build relationships with some of the high school recruits there.
It worked out, as both 4-star outside linebacker Jordan Anthony and 4-star center Cesar Ruiz signed with the Wolverines on National Signing Day.
Now, Harbaugh’s staff is targeting IMG once again. They extended a scholarship offer to Evan Neal, a 4-star offensive tackle. Neal also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and others.
On Saturday, the Wolverines also offered 3-star prospect Randy Russell Jr. The Miami native is ranked as the No. 41 safety in the nation and the No. 74 overall player in the state of Florida. Three-star cornerback Christian Jackson also received a scholarship offer recently. The Marietta, Georgia native is the No. 63 cornerback in the country and the No. 60 overall player in the Peach State.
