Despite having been committed to Penn State for just over a year now, the door is anything but shut on 5-star defensive end Micah Parsons‘ recruitment. Parsons, the No. 2 DE and No. 3 overall player in the CI 25, committed to the Nittany Lions on February 27, 2016.

So far this year he’s visited the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes, and attended each program’s junior day.

Micah ParsonsParsons was impressed by both visits and will make several more before finalizing things. Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and USC have all been mentioned as possible other schools on his list.

“There will be a top five [list] coming out in the next few months after I see these schools,” Parsons told Kipp Adams of 247Sports recently.

In addition to releasing a top schools list in the near future, he also has a commitment video lined up for later down the line.

“I am going to release it [his commitment video] at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl,” Parsons said.

Parsons has several factors he’s considering.

“My decision will be based on family, the school, early playing time as a freshman, a lot of factors.”

The good news for Penn State is that he’s still committed and is also the home-state star, hailing from nearby Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. That being said, the Nittany Lions have their work cutout in holding off pushes from some of the game’s best recruiters and most powerful programs.
