The Miami spring game is this weekend. Here’s all the info, including date, time and how to watch the Hurricanes’ spring game.
It is a new era in Miami, as Mark Richt is now the head coach of the Hurricanes. Fans of “The U” are hoping Richt can build the program into the powerhouse it once was.
Fixing the offense will be the first solution, as Miami finished 68th in the nation in yards per game and 71st in points per game.
The talent is there for Miami, though. While Richt may say that all starting positions are up for grabs, the Canes are pretty set with quarterback Brad Kaaya, who has thrown for more than 3,000 yards and 42 touchdowns during his first two years. Add in the running back duo of Joseph Yearby and Mark Walton, and you have a potentially explosive backfield.
Defensively, Miami will be led by linebacker Al-Quadin Muhammad, who paced the team in tackles for loss and sacks last season. Muhammad and the rest of the Miami defense will have to learn new coordinator Manny Diaz’s 4-3 scheme.
One thing Richt will want to see less of in the spring game and further is less penalties, as Miami led the nation in penalties and penalty yards per game last year.
