The Miami Hurricanes have made it to the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a preview of the team and a prediction of how they’ll do during March Madness.

    Resume

    Team: Miami Hurricanes

    Record:
     25-7

    Conference:
    ACC

    Head coach:
    Jim Larranaga

    How they got here:
     At-large bid

    The Good

The trio of Shelden McClellan, Angel Rodriguez and Davon Reed give the Hurricanes balance and keep opponents scrambling on defense. Rodriguez is the catalyst at point guard, and although he can play out of control at times, his ability to break down defenses creates headaches. Ja’Quan Newton and Tonye Jekiri are perfect in complementary roles. Miami also has shown a knack for finishing in close games.

    The Bad

The Hurricanes have fallen victim to offensive brownouts at times this season, and that’s a huge concern when the pace slows down in the Big Dance. Consistency from the perimeter has also been an issue, and when the ‘Canes aren’t hitting shots and controlling the tempo, they can get in a lot of trouble.

    Prediction

Miami isn’t going to shy away from anyone, and this is a very hungry team. Matchups will make a huge difference for the Hurricanes, but they’re certainly a threat to get to the Sweet 16. An Elite Eight run might be their ceiling, but Miami will put up a fight.
