Mecole Hardman Jr. commits to the Georgia Bulldogs on National Signing Day.

The No. 2 athlete in the 2016 class decided not to publicly trim his list of schools down in order to keep his options open. But the time came on Wednesday morning to tell the world where he’d be making big-time plays on Saturdays for the next few years, and it’s official. Mecole Hardman Jr. committed to Georgia on National Signing Day.

Landing the 5-star athlete is a major win for the the Bulldogs. He’ll team nicely with top recruits Jacob Eason and Isaac Nauta in the Dawgs offense.

“It’s time to get a national title back to Georgia,” Hardman stated.

He went with Georgia over Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee. Kirby Smart just added a key weapon to the arsenal. Although he can make plays on both sides of the football, Hardman is just too talented to not put the ball in his hands.

    Player Comparison

    Jabrill Peppers DB/WR

Mecole Hardman Jr. is the type of athlete whose talent doesn’t just jump off the screen at you, it pounces and screeches. His explosiveness and precise footwork make it extremely difficult for defenders to read which lane he’ll choose. He’s a lot like Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers in the sense he can make impact plays on both sides. Hardman isn’t as tall as Peppers — by a couple inches — but he attacks the ball in the secondry like Peppers and can turn up field in a hurry when on offense. While Peppers may project as a defensive back more so than an offensive weapon, Hardman is too skilled to be contained to defense.
