Five-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson has narrowed down his recruitment and will announce his commitment on National Signing Day. The Campus Insiders staff gave its predictions on where the nation’s No. 1 defensive tackle will end up.

National Signing Day is about a week away, and there are still plenty of high-profile recruits still left on the board without a school to call home for the next three to four years.

Now that Devon Hunter has chosen Virginia Tech, the highest-ranked uncommitted prospect is 5-star recruit Marvin Wilson.

The No. 1 defensive tackle and No. 10 overall player in the country is trying to decide between Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USF. But the Bellaire, Texas native has made it clear he still has no idea where he’s going to end up. However, he will know when he puts pen to paper on Wednesday.

The Campus Insiders staff got together and offered predictions for where the 5-star defensive tackle will send his National Letter of Intent.

I’ve believed all along that Hollywood Marv was going to end up in Columbus. But there’s also a chance he ends up in Tallahassee. Both the Buckeyes and Seminoles have made it clear how badly they want him.

The recent trend, though, has LSU favored. If he picks the Tigers, he can stay closer to home, and I know there are a few LSU commits (looking at you Kary Vincent Jr.) who have actively been recruiting Wilson to Baton Rouge for awhile now. However, Baron Browning and Jeffrey Okudah have been pitching him on being a Buckeye, too.

While I’m not as confident as I once was, I’m still picking Ohio State.

I’m going with the Bayou Bengals on this one. While FSU and Oklahoma are also good fits, it just seems that Wilson will lean toward playing for Dave Aranda in Baton Rouge. Who wouldn’t want to play on Saturday nights in Death Valley, especially when the Golden Band from Tiger Land hit those first four chords of the fight song? Exactly.

    Jeff Bartl

It would be a major win if Charlie Strong could convince Wilson to spurn Power 5 programs and join him at USF. That’s not likely to happen, though. LSU is making a big push and should be able to get Wilson to Baton Rouge, especially with LSU commits recruiting him there as well.

    Kurt Schwerman

I’m getting an LSU vibe with Wilson. The Tigers offer him a chance to play close to home in the SEC against, arguably, the best competition in the nation. Add in that LSU has some of its top recruits, including Kary Vincent Jr., making pitches to him to land in Baton Rouge, and I just don’t see him turning down that opportunity.

    Jonathan Bass

This feels like one that Ed Orgeron and Dave Aranda need to close, right? Like Aranda is the highest paid coordinator in the game, and Orgeron is considered one of the nation’s top recruiters. Time to reel in the big fish.

The kid is a four-hour drive down I-10 from Baton Rouge, and now Texas is out of the mix – thanks to the firing of Charlie Strong – it’s LSU’s commitment to lose. Toss in the fact that Wilson’s final official visit was to LSU, and you can paint him in purple and gold.

    Glenn McGraw

I could really see him landing at either LSU or Ohio State. Urban Meyer can close and I never ever want to count him out. But this is the recruit Ed Orgeron needs to set the tone. Dave Aranda is also one of the best in the business at recruiting. I like the Tigers to pull this one off and remind everyone why they’re one of the elite programs in the country.
