Why Marshall Will Win

The Herd and the 49ers are speeding in opposite directions, the latter losing five straight and the former winning six in a row. Of all the problems Charlotte faces, challenging the league’s best pass defense with a collection of quarterbacks that have thrown four touchdowns and 17 picks is the biggest.

Why Charlotte Will Win

A Marshall offense playing with a retooled backfield has been just average all year, especially in the passing game. In fact, winless North Texas played the Herd to a 13-13 tie over the final three quarters on Saturday.

What’s Going To Happen?

This is a tough matchup for Charlotte, which doesn’t have the blockers to contain an athletic Marshall front seven, or the quarterback consistency to solve the Herd secondary. Marshall will roll behind a deep running game and a significant edge in turnover margin.
