January 28, 2016Lyndell “Mack” Wilson threw everyone a curveball on Thursday when he revealed his final two schools on Twitter, but he quickly retracted the tweet.
Wilson posted the following message, citing a “miscommunication” between the Florida coaching staff and his mother for the reason he was eliminating the Gators. He also said he would no longer be taking his last official visit to Gainesville this upcoming weekend.
As Wilson stated, Florida was at the top of his list for a good amount of time. That being said, it always felt as if the Alabama Crimson Tide was the team to beat.
Once former Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart was hired by Georgia, the Bulldogs became a serious contender for his services.
The Crimson Tide is predicted by many to land Wilson, but if we learned one thing in his career, don’t underestimate Smart’s ability to close on a top recruit.
