March 7, 2016Luiji Vilain recruiting update. A handful of powerhouse programs are grabbing the four-star recruit’s attention.
Luiji Vilain, the nation’s No. 180 overall prospect and No. 17 defensive end, participated in the Pylon Las Vegas Nationl 7v7 this weekend.
Vilain, a Canadian native playing high school ball in Alexandria, Va., entered the tournament as one of the nation’s hottest recruits and will leave no differently.
According to Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Gorney, Vilan “lived up to the hype.”
He has offers from a plethora of the biggest programs in the nation, and with his latest performance, the list will continue to grow. Since the end of January, he’s picked up more than 10 offers, including from power programs Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Ohio State, UCLA and USC.
His recruitment has a ways to go, but there are a handful of schools that appear to be above the rest at this time. Gorney reports that Alabama, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Tennessee and UCLA “are piquing his attention so far,” and that he’s planning on bringing his recruitment to a close this summer.
Michael Clark of Scout, who recently spoke with Vilain regarding the recruiting process, reports that the four-star defensive end plans to chop his list down to eight schools or less this spring.
