Leonard Fournette against the Badgers defense … on opening weekend … in Lambeau Field? Yes, please!
Fournette is the star for the LSU offense, but the Tigers need quarterback Brandon Harris to step up if they want to meet the high expectations of College Football Playoff or bust. Harris has some good targets in Malachi Dupre and Travin Dural. The Badgers finished No. 2 in the nation in total defense last season, but defensive coordinator Dave Aranda will now be on the other sideline coaching the Tigers. The duo of Vince Biegel and Jack Cichy makes for a talented linebacker corps who will focus on stopping Fournette.
Wisconsin’s running game was not up to par in 2015, but a healthy Corey Clement should change that this season. The loss of center Dan Voltz is a major hit, especially when going up against a LSU defensive line that is led by Davon Godchaux and consistently shuts down opposing run games. Bart Houston, who was recently named the starter at quarterback, will have to make plays to give Clement some running room.
Here’s a look at some of the statistics as we head into the season opener.
Statistics reflect the 2015 college football season.
Passing Offense: 179.8 ypg (No. 106 in the nation)

Turnover Margin: 0.23 tpg (No. 48 in the nation)
Spread: LSU -10
Over/Under: 44.5
Both of these teams make their name by playing solid defense and running the ball, LSU, however, has more athletes and the ability to go over the top with Dupre and company. The Badgers will give a good effort, but ultimately the Bayou Bengals walk out of historic Lambeau with the win.
Final Score Prediction For LSU vs. Wisconsin: LSU 24, Wisconsin 13
