LSU vs. Texas A&M prediction roundtable with the Campus Insiders staff. Breaking down what will happen during the Thanksgiving game between the Tigers and Aggies.

I’ll take LSU, based on the fact that A&M’s offense has been stagnant without Trevor Knight under center. Not that Danny Etling is a world-beater, but he’s more serviceable than Jake Hubenak. It sounds like Knight will now start, but how much of a difference will that make? After all, this isn’t some cupcake defense he’s trotting out to face. While the Willis Reed move will work in firing up the team in the locker room, that all ends after one big hit. This game could be so, so good if not for the myriad of injuries to both teams. I’ll take LSU in a close one on the road.

Side note: this is the last time this game will be played on Thanksgiving, as ESPN has bumped it in favor of the Egg Bowl. Hopefully for the sake of college football fans everywhere, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are better next year, else it’ll be an early tryptophan coma.

Things will be different with Trevor Knight now reportedly set to play in the season-finale. Knight brings a different dimension to the Aggies offense that was sorely missed. The game is at home for A&M, and they’ll have the backing of the 12th Man.  Leonard Fournette is out as well. Everything is coming up A&M in this one. Aggies win at home to grab their ninth victory on the season.

Going with the Aggies at home here. Leonard Fournette reportedly didn’t make the trip with the team to College Station (as of Wednesday). The Tigers do have Derrius Guice, who is a force, but there’s not much to play for at 6-4 and in the midst of an ensuing coaching search (it looks like Ed Orgeron’s time has run out if LSU can land Jimbo Fisher). Kevin Sumlin will have his guys ready to deliver a Thanksgiving win in front of the home crowd.

I’m about to drop some knowledge on you that no one knows: Jake Hubenak is not a good quarterback. (Waiting for everyone’s jaws to be picked up off the floor.) Seriously though, the Aggies are lost without Trevor Knight under center on offense. Good thing Knight is now reportedly set to play.

Ed Orgeron has always prided himself on being able to win in the trenches, so of course the Tigers are stopped from the one-yard line by Florida to lose the game. This game will be ugly, as both offenses have hard time putting points on the board.

Even with Knight back, I’m going with LSU.
