1. Leonard Fournette kept his great season going with a 14-yard touchdown run and a 62-yard scoring romp, but it wasn’t until a long pass to Travin Dural and an 11-yard Malachi Dupre touchdown catch that LSU was finally able to breathe easily in the fourth quarter.
2. Syracuse kept pressing, with Zach Mahoney throwing three touchdown passes including a 40-yarder to Brisly Estime and a five-yarder to Dontae Strickland late. LSU recovered the onside kick and held on.
3. Tre’Davious White returned a punt for a score and a 17-3 LSU lead in the third, but Syracuse answered with the Estime score. It was Fournette’s 62-yard scoring dash that turned everything back around for the Tigers.
– Leonard Fournette ran 26 times for 244 yards and two scores.
– Brandon Harris completed 8-of-16 passes for 157 yards and a score, and ran for three yards. Malachi Dupre caught four passes for 73 yards and a score.
– Penalties: LSU 14 for 120 yards – Syracuse 4 for 36.
– Zack Mahoney completed 16-of-38 passes for 154 yards and three scores with a pick, and led the team with 41 yards on seven carries.
– Brisley Estime caught two passes for 50 yards and a score, and returned six kicks for 158 yards.
– 3-of-4 on third down conversions.
