LSU vs. Florida prediction, online live stream and TV broadcast information for Saturday’s game.

The LSU Tigers will host rival their rival Florida Gators in Baton Rouge, La. on Saturday in hopes of evening the season series.

The Tigers (16-12, 9-6 SEC) are trying to make a case for the NCAA Tournament, but their resume has grown weaker down the stretch as they’ve lost three straight games. Last time out, LSU was trounced, 85-65, by Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. The Hogs had just a two-point lead at halftime, but they exploded offensively in the second frame as they shot 63.3 percent to get their lead up to as many as 20. Arkansas bested LSU from the three (50 percent), from the field overall (54.1 percent) and it was plus-five in the rebounding category. Ben Simmons led the Tigers with 23 points and added 12 rebounds for his 18th double-double of the year.

The Gators (17-11, 8-7 SEC) are also fighting to get into the NCAA Tournament, but their recent showing hasn’t been up to par. Florida has dropped three of its last four games, including an 87-74 loss to Vanderbilt last time out. The Commodores held serve at halftime with a five-point lead thanks to an improbable, full-court shot by Josh Henderson. The Gators fought back in the ensuing half and narrowed the gap to 69-67 deficit, but Vanderbilt closed out the game on a 14-2 run. Circus shots aside, the Commodores put on a better shooting display than the Gators as they finished with a 50 percent mark from three and a 57.7 shooting percentage overall. Florida was led by Justin Leon who poured in a team-high 15 points off the bench.

LSU and Florida will get together for the second time this year and the 107th all-time. The Tigers lead the series, 64-44, but the Gators have won seven of the last nine matchups dating back to 2010.

Below is everything you need to know about the matchup, including the LSU vs. Florida prediction, online live stream and TV broadcast info, and game notes.

Both teams have hit the skids and are hungry for wins to boost their tournament resumes, so there will be no love lost in this game.

Florida is a team that hasn’t necessarily shown up in the standings or on the stat sheet this season, but it plays hard, so expect a lot of effort Saturday. That being said, LSU performs at another level at home. Ben Simmons isn’t about to settle for an NIT berth in what might be his only season, so expect Johnny Jones to light the fire under the Tigers for this one.

LSU will miss the presence of the injured Keith Hornsby, but Simmons, Antonio Blakeney and Tim Quarterman will be more than enough to stave off the Florida at the Pete Maravich Center.

    Prediction: LSU 85, Florida 76

    Game Notes

    • Entering Saturday’s game, Ben Simmons leads the SEC in rebounding (11.9), is third in scoring (19.5 ppg) and fourth in assists (5.0). Since the SEC began keeping assists as an official stats in 1968-69, no SEC player has ever finished in the top five in the league in all three categories.
    • Dorian Finney-Smith’s five games with 20+ points and 8+ rebounds this season are the most by a Gator in a single season since Marreese Speights had seven such games in 2007-08.
    • The second half has been good to LSU most games and in LSU’s last seven wins against Ole Miss, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State and A&M at home and at Alabama and Auburn, LSU made 108-of-187 field goal attempts in the final 20 minutes of the six games combined (57.7 percent).
