LSU football recruiting update. Devin White, a top 100 recruit, committed to the Tigers on Friday afternoon.
January 8, 2016If it seems like every time you look up, the LSU Tigers are adding elite talent to their 2016 recruiting class, it’s because they are.
LSU recently jumped into the No. 1 spot in 247Sports’ composite team rankings, and on Friday the Tigers further cemented their spot at the top with the commitment of Devin White.
White, the nation’s No. 5 athlete and No. 94 overall player (per 247Sports Composite), revealed his decision to play for LSU over Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State and Ole Miss.
Bleacher Report recruiting analyst Tyler Donohue tweeted, “4-star RB Devin White commits to #LSU over several SEC options. 255-pound beast rushed for nearly 4,000 yards & 60 TDs as an upperclassman.”
White is listed as a running back and inside linebacker. He discussed his running style with Donohue on Friday.
“I’m coming downhill with power,” he said. “If you don’t want to tackle me, I’ll find you.”
White is the third top-100 recruit to commit to LSU since the turn of the New Year, joining outside linebacker Michael Divinity and wide receiver Drake Davis.
Saivion Smith, a five-star recruit and the top ranked player in LSU’s class, welcomed White to the class.
“Let’s get it done brudda,” Smith tweeted at White.
