Four-star quarterback Lowell Narcisse re-committed to LSU on Monday morning, giving the Tigers 20 total commits in their 2017 recruiting class.
There are few roller coasters more up-and-down, more confusing than the world of college football recruiting is right now.
A week after he decommitted from the Tigers, 4-star prospect Lowell Narcisse re-committed to LSU on Monday morning. He released a brief statement to announce his decision.
“[I’m] happy to say my recruiting process has ended. I’ve decided to start the next chapter of my life at Louisiana State University.”
Ranked as the No. 15 quarterback and No. 227 overall player in the 2017 recruiting cycle, Narcisse decommitted from Auburn in January before giving his pledge to LSU in May — when Les Miles was at the helm of the program.
Miles was eventually fired, and Ed Orgeron has since been hired as the Tigers’ new head coach. Lowell had backed off his pledge at a time when there wasn’t an offensive coordinator in place in Baton Rouge.
In between Narcisse’s decision to decommit from LSU and his recent decision to re-join the class, one key move was made: LSU hired Matt Canada as its new offensive coordinator.
That paved the way for 4-star quarterback Myles Brennan to re-join the Tigers’ class, too. Brennan, the No. 16 quarterback and No. 257 player in the country, opened up his options because of the then-vacant offensive coordinator job at LSU.
We’re now a week into the recruiting dead period. Orgeron’s Tigers have lost and re-gained pledges from two 4-star quarterbacks, and now LSU has moved past Notre Dame to climb from No. 8 to No. 7 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings.
