1. Louisville roared out of the gate with 21 first quarter points with Lamar Jackson running for scores from 14 and 13 yards out and Brandon Radcliff ran for a two-yard score.
2. Samford’s only score came in the second on a 32-yard field goal, and the Cardinals roared the rest of the way scoring 24 unanswered points.
3. Jackson connected with James Quick for a 36-yard touchdown in the third and Reggie Bonnafon stepped in the final moments in the second quarter and threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Micky Crum.
– Lamar Jackson completed 15-of-22 passes for 212 yards and a score with a pick, and ran 18 times for a school-record for a quarterback 184 yards and two scores.
– James Quick caught three passes for 69 yards and a score. Brandon Radcliff ran six times for 36 yards and a score.
