Les Miles addressed the LSU job rumors that have been circulating the past couple of weeks. Here's everything he had to say during his Monday press conference.
November 23, 2015Not entirely sure how we got to this point, but Les Miles is apparently on the hot seat at LSU. Never mind the fact that only one team can win a title every year, and that Miles is one of the best coaches in the game — the powers that be at Louisiana State are supposedly wanting more.
Miles has lost three straight games after starting 7-0, and with each successive defeat, the rumblings surrounding his job security have grown.
During his Monday press conference, Miles was hit head-on with the questions regarding his job. Below are some of the responses he had to the circulating talk.
“If someone’s asking me if I’m coaching for my job, I’ve been coaching for my job for 11 years.”
“No, I’m not considering retirement.”
“Absolutely, this will be a warm-up for the team meeting.”
“I don’t want to go there. I would not be doing my job as the head coach of LSU, one I’ve enjoyed doing with a group of young men I enjoy representing … I’m not going to find myself watching TV, or reading papers, or doing anything but preparing gameplan, looking at the advantages we have and seeing if we can exploit them to victory. Nah.”
“The stability in LSU, being the head coach and giving leadership here and allowing my family to enjoy the opportunities of the community and Louisiana has been rich to your family. It’s given us insight to people in different areas. This is home.”
