The FSU Seminoles landed a commitment from four-star outside linebacker Leonard Warner. Jimbo Fisher’s team reeled in one of the best defenders out of Georgia.

After a stressful recruiting cycle, Leonard Warner finally knows where he will play his collegiate football.

The 6-foot-4, 224-pound Georgia outside linebacker chose Florida State over Georgia, Auburn, Stanford and others on the morning of National Signing Day.

The Class of 2017 product had in-home visits with coaches from FSU and Georgia recently, and Stanford was in there as well. While Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart has placed a weighted emphasis on locking down the borders, he could not keep the talented Warner in the Peach Tree State. His commitment was big for an FSU staff that has been focusing on the state of Georgia more recently.

Warner could fit into multiple schemes at the next level, as he could play at outside linebacker, inside linebacker or even a rush end. While he played both sides of the ball in high school, he will be sticking to the defensive side of the ball at the next level. He diagnoses plays well and takes good angles to the ball.

Warner may ultimately remind FSU fans of former Seminoles star Christian Jones, who is currently with the NFL’s Chicago Bears.
