Leonard Fournette dismisses transfer talk that's crept up amid the LSU football controversy regarding the 2016 season being canceled.
February 12, 2016Thanks to Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, there’s currently a meltdown going on in the “Pelican State.” During a televised Thursday night address, Edwards tugged on the people of Louisiana’s hearts by threatening one of the state’s prized possessions: LSU football.
Before we proceed, take a deep breath, Tiger fans. LSU football is not going anywhere. It’s actually one of the entities that makes money — a lot of it. Edwards simply knew the high-impact play to sell part of his political agenda in an effort to fix the state’s $940 million deficit. PSA: If you’re looking for your next vacation, put New Orleans at the top of your list.
With that understood, let’s address the other storyline that has blossomed because of Edwards’ statements: Leonard Fournette potentially transferring if LSU football is canceled in 2016.
Well, how about we let Fournette address it himself. On Friday afternoon, he sent out the following tweet, making it very clear where his allegiance lies.
I'm not going nowhere like I said before I will never jump ship, I'm drowning with my brothers……
