Shortly after Tuesday’s trade that sent the Celtics’ Isaiah Thomas to the Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving, fans posted videos burning Thomas’ jersey.
Thomas, who has been the face of the Celtics since he arrived in 2015, played in the Celtics’ playoff opener against the Chicago Bulls just a day after his sister, Chyna, was killed in a car accident.
New teammate LeBron James was quick to respond to the “fans” burning his jersey:
